JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has eliminated car free day (CFD) activities or motorized vehicle free days (HBKB) in the Sudirman-Thamrin area on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
The elimination of CFD along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin applies in connection with the side event of the ASEAN Summit (KTT) since September 2.
"Information on September 3, the implementation of the motor vehicle free day was abolished because the side event activities of the Summit would be focused on the Sudirman-Thamrin area," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, at DKI City Hall, Wednesday, August 23.
Given that there were business meetings between guests of the country's delegation in the ASEAN Summit series in the Sudirman-Thamrin area, the public was asked to exercise in other areas.
"The public is asked not to carry out sports activities on September 3 on Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin. Please operate in parks or environmental roads in their respective areas," said Syafrin.
In addition, the DKI Provincial Government together with the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya also carried out situational traffic engineering on a number of roads that became the route for delegates during the series of ASEAN's 43rd Summit events.

Especially on September 6, 2023, the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman was closed in the two villages from the Youth Statue Building Segment to the Semanggi Interchange. The closure of this road takes effect from 18.00 to 22.00 WIB.
"So we urge the public not to carry out activities in the area and if there is to provide public transportation," said Syafrin.
However, Syafrin emphasized that Transjakarta and MRT Jakarta public transportation services along the route of the ASEAN Summit delegation will continue to operate normally.
"For MRT services, the travel schedule will be added as well as Transjakarta operates as usual. So, there is no diversion of the flow for Transjakarta for September 5-7, still around GBK, the implementation of activities," he added.
