Polda Metro Destroyed Hundreds Of Kilos Of Marijuana And Sabu From 4 Months Enforcement

JAKARTA - The Metro Jaya Regional Police's Narcotics Detective Directorate and the Police ranks destroyed various types of narcotics which were evidence of disclosure during a period of four months. It is recorded that hundreds of kilograms of marijuana and methamphetamine were destroyed.

"On this occasion we are carrying out the destruction of drug evidence as a result of the disclosure of the Special Task Force for the Directorate of Narcotics at Polda Metro Jaya and the Polres for the last four months from October 2020 to January 2021," said the Head of Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Fadil Imran to reporters, Wednesday, February 3.

Fadil explained that the hundreds of kilograms of narcotics of various types was the result of the disclosure of nine cases. Where, 24 people were named as suspects.

"The evidence was secured by 217.44 kilograms of sabu, 801.48 kilograms of marijuana, 18,000 ecstasy items, 1.37 kilograms of gorilla tobacco," said Fadil.

Before the narcotics are destroyed, they must first be tested to ensure that the evidence is actually drugs. Furthermore, the narcotics are destroyed using a special narcotics destruction machine called an incinerator.

After destroying the narcotics, Fadil emphasized that drug trafficking is an extraordinary crime. Where the perpetrators were constantly circulating by using various modes.

"As we all know, drug trafficking continues to occur both by national and international networks. Therefore, in the context of realizing Jakarta Zero Narcotics, Polda Metro Jaya is determined to continue carrying out advances to go to Jakarta Zero Narcotics," said Fadil.
