Cases Of Counterfeit COVID-19 Vaccines Uncovered

JAKARTA - People in the world need to be careful. In China, authorities have uncovered cases of counterfeit COVID-19 vaccines.

There are more than 80 people arrested in this case. Chinese police also seized more than three thousand doses of the fake COVID-19 vaccine.

The suspects have been committing fraud by selling counterfeit vaccines since at least September last year. Xinhua also said that all the counterfeit vaccine preparations had been traced.

"The fake vaccine is made by injecting a saline solution or infusion into a syringe", he said. The suspects may intend to send the fake vaccine abroad, said the Chinese government-backed newspaper, Global Times which cited a statement from sources close to China's major vaccine producers.

The Police tracking operations for fake vaccines are being carried out in many places, including Beijing, Shanghai, and the eastern province of Shandong. Countries around the world have launched vaccine programs in hopes of ending the year-long coronavirus pandemic.
