The Vice President Will Have An Office In Papua In Early September

Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin will have an office in Papua in early September 2023 with a number of ministers and TNI Commanders to accelerate development efforts there and also resolve problems faced by local governments.

This was conveyed by the spokesman for the Vice President Masduki Baidlowi after accompanying the Vice President to a meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Friday, August 18.

"Earlier, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture reported several important things to the Vice President, especially those related to the results of his visit to Papua. Incidentally, the Vice President plans to return to Papua on September 4 and plans to have an office there with a number of ministers," Masduki said as quoted by ANTARA.

Masduki said the Vice President would have an office in Papua for several days and visit a number of areas there. Some time ago the Vice President had also visited and toured a number of cities in Papua for a week.

On the September visit, the Vice President will be accompanied by the TNI Commander and a number of ministers including the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, the Minister of Cooperatives, the Minister of PUPR, and the Minister of Investment.

According to Masduki, during the Vice President's visit to Papua some time ago, many of the reported problems had not been resolved. So that in Papua, the Vice President will hold a number of important meetings, one of which is to hear the aspirations of the governors and regents.

Deputy for the Secretariat of the Vice President for Government and National Insight Velix Wanggai said that during the visit, the Vice President together with the ministers and local governments would look for solutions to combine a welfare approach with an effective security approach in Papua.

The vice president will also visit Biak for sanitation treatment and preparation for Sail Teluk Cenderawasih.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy said the importance of developing aircraft runway infrastructure at Sinak Airport, Papua, so that the airport could be stopped by large-body aircraft such as the TNI's Hercules.

Muhadjir said that if Sinak Airport in Puncak Regency could be visited by Hercules aircraft, then not only food assistance could be delivered to the surrounding area but also development materials for infrastructure in Papua.
