JAKARTA - Three people died in the fire incident at the F2 Hotel in the Melawai area, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The head of RT02/04 named Akui (54) said the victim was locked when the fire occurred.

Akui added that there were 6 victims who were trapped at that time. Two victims were rescued by officers from the South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. in 1 room.

While the other 4 victims were in different rooms. One person was rescued. However, three people were not saved, due to difficulties during the evacuation of the victim.

"It was the key (lock of the victim's room) to be locked, broken down the river or something, it was a bit slow (because the door to the room was locked) for the evacuation, so it could not be helped. There were three (victims who died), two women and one man," said Akui to reporters at the location, Friday, August 18.

When asked about the cause of the fire, Tribuana admitted that she could not conclude. However, based on information from the South Jakarta Fire Department, the cause of the fire was cigarette butts.
