Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo handed over a number of social assistance to residents at the Tengki Village Hall, Brebes District, Brebes Regency, Central Java in the 78th Central Java Anniversary series.
The assistance handed over by Ganjar was in the form of 8 units of Uninhabitable Houses (RTLH) worth Rp. 80 million, latrines Rp. 10.5 million, assistance of 3.5 tons of eggs for stunting, up to 800 food packages. This assistance was distributed to residents of Tengki Village and Lembarawa Village, Brebes Regency.
"We provide assistance to residents in Brebes. Earlier there was RTLH, there were still people who defecate in the river, we have to stop it," said Ganjar at the location, Thursday, August 10.
The assistance is the result of collaboration between the Central Java Provincial Government Social Service and the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) and philanthropic volunteers. Beneficiaries will also be assisted by community cooperation to realize their assistance.
Ganjar also used the moment of handing over the aid to educate residents about the importance of latrines. The reason, said Ganjar, is that there are still many Brebes residents who defecate (BAB) in the river.
"Many people want to help, so that the apparatus in Brebes, residents of Brebes, let's optimize our activities to be able to educate the public so that their healthy clean lifestyle runs and they have all latrines," said Ganjar.

Susi, one of the recipients of RTLH assistance from Lambarawa Village, thanked Ganjar. Thanks to this assistance, Susi can now have a decent house.
The reason is that Susi's previous residence was only held by a simple wall with a cement-ladened floor. Now, said Susi, this condition will change after receiving assistance from Ganjar.
"Alhamdulillah, I'm happy, just stay healthy, keep success, thank you Pak Ganjar for helping the people below," said Susi.
In 2023, Ganjar succeeded in removing the poor population in Central Java to more than 60 thousand people throughout. This can be seen from the Central Java Statistics Agency (BPS) report which stated that the poor population in Central Java decreased to 3.79 million people in March 2023.
In percentage terms, this number decreased to 10.77 percent or decreased to 0.21 percentage points when compared to September 2022 which reached 10.98 percent or 3.86 million people. On the other hand, Ganjar managed to reduce 51 percent of the stunting rate over the last four years. During those four years, the stunting rate has always consistently decreased.
Based on electronic calculations of Community-Based Nutrition Registration and Reporting (ePPGBM), in 2018 the stunting rate in Central Java was at 24.4 percent, a year later in 2019 it fell to 18.3 percent. The percentage fell again in 2020 to 14.5 percent, then in 2021 it fell to 12.8 percent, and finally in 2022 it was 11.9 percent.
"Including the assistance from RTLH, nutrition assistance for pregnant women (lays) so that we can prevent stunting. And we are assisted by Baznas, thank you for the help," concluded Ganjar.
