Gerindra Said About Yenny Wahid's Chance To Become Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate

Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani answered the opportunity for the daughter of the 4th President RIAbdurrahman Wahid, Yenny Wahid, to become a vice presidential candidate for Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election.

"All the names that are favored by the community for us are names that have sufficient capacity, capability and we respect the character capacity, including the name Mrs. Yenny Wahid. Therefore, we respect it," said Muzani as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 9.

Previously, Yenny Wahid stated that as a person who has been in politics for a long time, he must be ready if he is appointed as a vice presidential candidate to accompany certain presidential candidates.

Muzani said that although many names of figures were said to be candidates for vice president for Prabowo Subianto, they were divided.

Gerindra's name must obtain approval from the coalition of parties, in this case the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition, namely Gerindra and the National Awakening Party (PKB).

"Our current coalition is a coalition between Gerindra and the National Awakening Party. All names circulating as vice presidential candidates must of course get approval from Gerindra and PKB," he explained.

Muzani conveyed that Gerindra and PKB are currently intensifying communication with other parties to grow the coalition.

He hopes that soon parties will be announced again, which will approach the Greater Indonesia Awakening coalition. Indonesia will hold the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections in 2024.

So far, there are three names of presidential candidates who are said to be advancing in competition, namely Anies Baswedan, Ganjar Pranowo, and Prabowo Subianto.
