JAKARTA - Habib Muhammad Luthfi Ali bin Yahya and Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto will be the organizing committee for the International Sufi Congress which will be held in Pekalongan, Central Java, August 29-31, 2023. This was conveyed by Prabowo Subianto after reporting to President Joko Widodo about the holding of the International Sufi Congress. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have just come from the committee of the International Sufi Congress, or the World Sufi Assembly whose leader is Habib Muhammad Luthfi Ali bin Yahya with his entourage and leadership, where I have the honor of being asked to participate, because this is also a collaboration with the Ministry of Defense several years ago, I just have to continue,” Prabowo explained in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, August 8. Prabowo said he together with Habib Luthfi and the committee members reported to the President that the implementation of the International Sufi Congress would be held on August 29-31, 2023 in Pekalongan, Central Java. The event will be attended by sufi scholars from 64 countries that are members of the World Sufi Assembly. “ Among them are the scholars of the University Chancellor's Sufi Mufti. The International Sufi Congress raises the theme of contemporary sufi works in a dynamic world, which will discuss four fields, namely sufi education and its influence on soul assassination; economy and sustainable development; the media industry and public opinion; as well as the important role of tasawuf in building humans and developing civilization.
