Want To Be Deposed From The Democrat Ketum, AHY: We Smelled These Symptoms Since One Month Ago

JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), admitted that he had known about the movement that would depose him since one month ago.

"Actually, we have smelled this symptom since 1 month ago," said AHY during a press conference, Jakarta, Monday, February 1.

However, Putra Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) is still trying to keep it. Because, he hopes it is not true and only to seek attention.

However, the day the information is becoming more and more widely heard. In fact, a number of high-ranking party officials both at the central and regional levels have reported about the movement to remove him from his position as the Democratic Chair.

"At first, we considered this issue to be just a minor issue, a mere internal affair. But since there were reports of the involvement of external parties from the circle of power that entered successively last week, we are conducting an in-depth investigation," he said.

"Initially we didn't just believe it when the reporters mentioned the name of the figure who planned to take over the leadership of the Democratic Party, given the position he is currently holding and his background factors," he concluded.

Previously, AHY explained, this movement was welcomed by five figures. They consist of one active Democrat cadre, one cadre who has been inactive for 6 years, one former cadre who was dishonorably dismissed for 9 years due to corruption, one cadre who left the party 3 years ago, and one non-cadre of the Democratic Party.

AHY said, one figure who is not from within the party is a high official in the government of President Joko Widodo. In fact, there are a number of ministers who reportedly support this movement.

"This movement involves important government officials who are functionally within the circle of power closest to President Joko Widodo. This movement is also said to have received support from a number of ministers and important officials in President Joko Widodo's government," said AHY.

Not accepting the existence of this jagged movement, AHY admitted that he would defend his party's sovereignty and honor. He will maintain the position of Chairman of the Democrats by taking legal steps.

"We will do so by heeding the constitution and laws, legal institutions and political initiatives that are based on the values of moral justice and ethics. Of course we will act firmly, but God willing, the Democratic Party will consistently use peaceful and civilized methods," he said.
