Assessed As A Danger To Safety, Tangerang Transportation Agency Issues Ban On The Use Of Telolet Horns

TANGERANG - The police in collaboration with the Tangerang City Transportation Service (Dishub) issued an appeal regarding the prohibition of using telolet horns in Tangerang City.

The head of the Tangerang City Transportation Agency, Achmad Suhaely, said that the ban on the use of horns is considered to endanger the safety of traffic in Tangerang City.

On that basis, his party coordinated with the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) to disseminate control socialization to a number of Otobus (PO) companies at the Poris Plawad Terminal, Tangerang City.

"We have socialized to all bus POs at Poris Plawad Terminal, Tangerang City, to prohibit their fleet from using the horn," said Head of Tangerang City Transportation Agency, Achmad Suhaely in a statement seen on Saturday, August 5.

He continued, the ban on the use of telolet horns was carried out to ensure order, security, and safety of traffic in Tangerang City. The reason is, many people stop or gather on the road just to wait for the sound of the horn.

"We also hope that the appeal for the ban on the use of telolet horns can be obeyed by all parties. So that security, order, and safety can be guaranteed and realized in Tangerang City," he added.

He said he would take firm action against buses or other large vehicles that were found to keep honking the telolet horn. Moreover, the use of the telolet horn has included disturbing public security and order.
