JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the United Development Party (PPP) Achmad Baidowi said the coalition party supporting the presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo would continue and not be affected even without the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).
"The coalition is still running. Without PSI, there is no problem. With the existing coalition, we have been able to carry a candidate pair," said Achmad Baidowi in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 3.
According to him, the political parties that support Ganjar Pranowo are currently sufficient to carry the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs for the 2024 presidential election.
Achmad Baidowi said that so far the coalition parties supporting Ganjar Pranowo are the PDI-P, PPP, the People's Conscience Party (Hanura), and the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo).
He claimed other parties, such as the National Mandate Party (PAN), Golkar, the National Awakening Party (PKB), and Democrats are in a tax position to join.
"If other parties like PSI do not want to join, yes, how else. We are still going and we are not affected," he said.
Achmad Baidowi said the coalition party carrying Ganjar was getting more solid. The coalition, he said, is focusing on compiling and implementing strategies to win the Governor of Central Java.
"So far, it has been very solid. The last time we conducted education was Jurkamnas (National Campaign Winner) Ganjar," he added.
Previously, PSI received a visit from the presidential candidate from the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto at the PSI DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (2/8).
After the closed meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Board of Trustees Grace Natalie said there were similarities between her party and Prabowo.
"So the conversation was warm, serious but relaxed, shared the vision with each other, and there were similarities that I found from PSI and Pak Prabowo," Grace said after receiving Prabowo's visit and the Gerindra Party group.
Grace explained that PSI and Prabowo both believe that Indonesia must unite to make the nation strong and advanced. In line with that, Prabowo admitted that he found a match with PSI.
Prabowome stated that he invited PSI to join the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) for the 2024 Simultaneous Elections.
"Oh, yes. We certainly want to invite all red and white powers, all Indonesian powers to work together," said Prabowo.

Previously, PSI had stated that it was ready to support Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election, even as the front line.
"PSI is ready to support at the forefront of Ganjar Pranowo's candidacy," Grace Natalie said in a statement received, in Jakarta, Thursday (20/10/2022).
Grace said that national leadership requires a person who is very competent and with integrity, not a medioker figure.
"Mas Ganjar has been proven by his work in Central Java. With him stating that he is ready to become a presidential candidate, Indonesia has hopes to have a president with a quality that is not inferior to Pak Jokowi," said Grace.
