Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi met with 33 EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) delegates at the Ministry of Transportation Building, Jakarta, discussing opportunities for cooperation in transportation development.
The meeting was part of a series of Mission Trip to Indonesia 2023 activities organized by EU-ABC.
The EU-ABC delegation consists of 33 representatives of several European Union companies led by Executive Director of EU ASEAN Business Council Chris Total.
"We discussed a number of things in the transportation sector, starting from the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem, infrastructure development using the cooperation scheme of the government and business entities (KPBU), and other issues in the transportation sector," said the Minister of Transportation as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 2.
The Minister of Transportation said that the Indonesian government opens opportunities for partners to invest in construction projects and the operation of transportation infrastructure at airports, ports, and rail networks through innovative and creative financing schemes such as KPBU.
Meanwhile, several investment opportunities in transportation sector development and development infrastructure include the development of logistics trains in Sumatra, synchronization of rail access to ports on Java Island (Tanjung Emas Port, Tanjung Perak Port, and Tanjung Priok Port) as well as opportunities to increase transportation infrastructure efficiency in several ports with private companies such as Maersk.
"We also open up opportunities for cooperation for the planning and development of the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago and the development of urban mass transportation in Jabodetabek, Medan, Bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, and Bali," said the Minister of Transportation.
