Malang Resort Police (Polres) took steps to anticipate the hoarding of 3 kilograms of LPG in Malang Regency, East Java so that there would be no shortage of stocks, by checking a number of agents in the area. Head of Public Relations of Malang Police Iptu Ahmad Taufik said the move was taken to ensure the availability of 3 kilograms of LPG in the market in sufficient quantities for the needs of the community. "We have carried out monitoring of a number of three kilograms of LPG provider agents, to ensure that there is no hoarding practice," said Taufik as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 31. Taufik explained, if there is hoarding of such important commodities, then it will affect price stability as well as cause scarcity that has an impact on the lack of supply for the community. Therefore, he continued, Malang Police are committed to participating in efforts to prevent and take action in the event of a violation. In addition, he emphasized that the police do not hesitate to take firm action if there are parties involved in hoarding practices. "We will take firm legal steps in accordance with applicable regulations if there are agents or individuals who try to take advantage of this situation for personal gain," he said. Malang Police also invites the public to participate in monitoring and reporting if they find indications of hoarding or scarcity of three kilograms of Elpiji around their area. "Collaboration and active participation of the community are expected to help the authorities to be more effective in overcoming this problem," he said.
