Gus Dur's Daughter Assesses The Widow's Abu As Racist: That Person Is Really Stupid

JAKARTA - The National Coordinator of the Gusdurian Network, Alissa Wahid, assessed that the statement by Permadi Arya alias Abu Janda against Natalius Pigai was excessive and violated the principles of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah.

"That's very racist, huh. Excessive and not tawassuth (moderate). When commenting like that, he has violated all the principles of NU. Tawassuth, tawazun, tasamuh do not exist, and i'tidal doesn't exist. That person is really stupid," said Alissa reported from nu.or.id, Sunday, January 31.

According to the eldest daughter of the fourth President of the Republic of Indonesia, KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), what Abu Janda did not reflect NU. In fact, he stressed, so far the behavior shown by Abu Janda to the public is not in line with NU.

According to Alissa, the most important thing for someone to become a Nahdliyin is by applying the principles of Aswaja An-Nahdliyah in their daily lives. These principles are tasamuh, tawazun, tawassuth, i'tidal, and amar ma'ruf nahi munkar.

"That is what determines whether a person can be called an NU person or not," he said.

Permadi Arya has not only once caught the attention of the public because of his tweets. Later, he was reported by the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) to the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit for alleged hate speech against Papuan activists Natalius Pigai.

"We have received our report, thank God, cooperatively from the police. We have attached the evidence as well," said Head of the KNPI DPP Legal Division, Medya Rischa Lubis, to reporters at Bareskrim Polri, Thursday, January 28.

"That today we have reported the twitter account @ permadiaktivis1 which is allegedly owned by the brother of Permadi Arya alias Abu Janda," he continued.

Regarding this report, the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said that his party had received the report from the National Youth Committee (KNPI).

"The report is yes. What is clear is that all public reports will be accepted, the police will definitely be served by the police to be followed up. We will definitely convey the developments," Rusdi explained at the Police Headquarters, Friday, January 29.

According to him, it is the duty of the National Police investigator to accept all complaints from the public. Currently, investigators are busy studying the report and all attached evidence.

"We learned first, currently investigators are still studying the report that was prepared yesterday by the reporter, meanwhile. Later on, the progress will definitely be conveyed," explained this one-star general.
