Fort Vastenburg Solo Confiscated By The Jakarta Kejari, Surakarta City Government Please Don't Disturb Tourism

SOLO - Surakarta City Government hopes that the confiscation of the Vastenburg Fort Solo carried out by the Central Jakarta District Attorney (Kejari) will not interfere with community cultural activities. "I hope that later the winner of the auction will still provide access to activities and be creative there," said Head of the Surakarta City Culture and Tourism Office, Aryo Windyandoko, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27.

As is known, the fort is often used to organize various events, ranging from culture to festivals. Several events held at Vastenburg Fort including Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA) and music concerts. However, in the near future there will be no event from the Surakarta City Government held at the fort. "What is from the service is not there, I don't know from outside. Until now I don't know but there is," he said.

He said that on average in one month the event held at the fort could be up to a dozen times. "In 2023, there will be quite a lot of activities, if one month and eleven times there are. If I haven't checked in August, lastly, the culinary festival," he said.

Regarding the event being held in the fort in the near future, he said the owner needed to obtain a permit from the Surakarta City Regional Financial and Asset Management Revenue Agency (BPPKAD). "To issue permits from assets," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Surakarta Kejari DB Susanto confirmed the confiscation news. He said the board installation was carried out last Wednesday at around 11.00 WIB. "It is true that a team from the Central Jakarta Prosecutor's Office carried out a confiscation in our area," he said.

However, his party was reluctant to explain in more detail about the confiscation of land and the Vastenburg Fort building. "This activity was carried out by an execution team from the Central Jakarta Kejari and the AGO. We will wait for an official explanation. We only assist and facilitate it," he said.

Previously, at the fort there was a confiscated certificate in the Corruption Case of Financial Management and Investment Funds by PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero) on behalf of the convict Benny Tjokrosaputro. At the bottom there is an inscription by the party in charge of installing the board, namely the Head of the Central Jakarta District Attorney.
