Thousands Of 3 Kg LPG Tubes Smuggled Amid Scarcity Of Supply In North Konawe

KONAWE UTARA - North Konawe Resort Police (Polres), Southeast Sulawesi thwarted the smuggling of 1,132 gas cylinders (liquified petroleum gas) measuring three kilograms subsidized by the government to be brought to Morowali Regency.

Head of Operations Section (Kabag Ops) AKP Sunari said the disclosure of the smuggling case was the result of a follow-up to the condition of the scarcity of LPG gas cylinders in the jurisdiction of the Konut Police.

"This is also the commitment of the North Konut Police in eradicating the oil and gas mafia (Migas) in the jurisdiction of the North Sumatra Police," Sunari said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 26.

During the operation, North Sumatra Police personnel managed to secure as many as 11 units of four-wheeled vehicles with evidence of three kilogram LPG gas cylinders as many as 1,132 seeds.

In addition to thousands of LPG gas cylinders, North Kondu Police personnel also managed to secure 295 jerry cans of pertalite fuel and seven jerry cans of diesel fuel.

"There are 1,132 LPG gas cylinder seeds measuring three kilograms and 302 jerry cans of subsidized fuel," explained Sunari.

Evidence of the three kilogram LPG gas cylinders and subsidized fuel came from various districts and cities in Bumi Anoa, namely from Konawe, Bombana, North Konawe, and Kendari Regencies.

"The method is that they buy at kiosks and kiosks of LPG gas agents, then the perpetrators sell them in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi," said Sunari.

The activity carried out by North Konut Police personnel was to answer complaints from the people of North Konawe regarding the scarcity of LPG gas in every village and sub-district in North Konawe.
