KPK: Arrest The Hands Of Basarnas Officials Regarding Detection Devices For Victims Of Ruins

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed a hand arrest operation (OTT) of a National SAR Agency (Basarnas) official related to the procurement of debris victims detection equipment. It is suspected that there was a fee.

"Arrest hands related to alleged corruption in the procurement of goods and services at Basarnas in the form of a detection tool for victims of the ruins," said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri in a written statement, Wednesday, July 26.

Firli revealed that the fee given in the process reached 10 percent. However, he is still closing the exact number of meetings.

Furthermore, Firli said Basarnas officials along with a number of parties caught in the silent operation were still undergoing investigation. A total of eight people were escorted to the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Tuesday, July 25 yesterday.

"Currently, KPK investigators are still working to collect information and evidence. Later, the KPK will convey it to the public," he said.

"KPK works in accordance with the principles of carrying out its main duties and is not affected by any power," concluded Firli.
