Semarang Mayor's Joke In Asking Village Heads To Be Diligent On Visiting Around: No Need To Use Air Conditioning In The Office, So It Gets Hot, And They Continue To Do A Visit

SEMARANG - The Mayor of Semarang, Central Java, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu asked the village heads to diligently go out into the community so they can know and understand the problems that are happening.

"The village heads should 'go around', not just in the office. I got a joke, how if the office (village head office) doesn't need to use air conditioning. It makes the room hot, and they go out," said Ita, her nickname in Semarang, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 25.

This was conveyed by Ita on the sidelines of the Government Management Training for village heads in Semarang City which took place at the Infantry Raider 400/Banteng Raiders Battalion Headquarters.

According to her, the village heads should be responsive in dealing with problems that occur in the community and problems can be understood if the village heads are diligent in going out to the people.

Through education and training, the Mayor of Semarang hopes that the village heads ranks can be more responsive, able to understand and carry out their rights and obligations in a balanced manner.

Ita hopes that the village heads will instill a mindset of service, loyalty, and integrity after attending the training so that they can carry out their duties as regional stakeholders optimally.

She promised to reward village heads who excel in carrying out their duties, obligations, and responsibilities to the community.

"If there is a problem, don't hesitate to report it, communicate. We will not hesitate to give an award, but you must carry out the obligations as village heads," she said.

Meanwhile, the Commander of the Raider Infantry Battalion 400/Banteng Raiders Lt. Col. Moh. Zainollah revealed that organizing the education and training was the idea of the Mayor of Semarang who wanted a change for the better.

Training is aimed at increasing knowledge, expertise, skills, and attitudes in the process of management and administration of the village head office.

"Includes planning, governance, organizing, developing, using government resources, and especially the village," he said.

"I hope this moment is used as introspection. Let's have empathy, with empathy we will have concern to do something good for others," he concluded.
