Support The National Police, PP Muhammadiyah Consider The Family Bhayangkara Corps

JAKARTA - The Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP) fully supports the work program launched by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo during his leadership. The Bhayangkara Corps is considered a family.

"That Muhammadiyah already considers the National Police as part of the Muhammadiyah family," said the Secretary General (Sekjen) of PP Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu'ti to reporters, Friday, January 29.

Jokingly, Abdul Mu'ti said that Listyo Sigit did not need to pay membership fees. Although Abdul Mu'ti actually believed, Listyo Sigit was ready to pay for it.

"We indeed conveyed that the National Police Chief does not need to be a member of Muhammadiyah. Because if he becomes a member of Muhammadiyah he has to pay membership fees even though he is ready," he said.

Regarding support, Abdul Mu'ti said the program launched by Listyo was very good. Especially about the moderation program.

"The point is that Muhammadiyah supports the National Police Chief's program, especially programs related to moderation. The National Police Chief stated that moderation is a program he will develop," he said.

Abdul Mu'ti also mentioned that PP Muhammadiyah proposed to Listyo with a tagline, 'Police Friends of the Umat'. With this tagline, it is hoped that the Police can put forward a humanist and more populist approach.

"Then there is full support by the National Police Chief to take a more humanist, more populist approach. We agreed to propose a new tagline, namely police being friends of the ummah," said Abdul Mu'ti.
