Director Of PDAM Kendari Becomes A Corruption Suspect For Intake Project

The Kendari District Attorney, Southeast Sulawesi, has named the Director of the Kendari City Water Mineral Company (PDAM) with the initials DM and a contractor with the initials IS as suspects in the alleged corruption case of the IntakePohara project.

Head of Section (Kasi) Intel Kejari Kendari Bustanil N Arifin said the two were caught in a corruption case in the work of optimizing the intake and WTP Punggolaka by PDAM Kendari City for the 2022 fiscal year.

He explained that the Prosecutor's Office had conducted a case title from the results of the investigation of the case, on Monday (24/7) morning.

"From the results of the title of the case and from the leadership's instructions, against the criminal act of Pohara's intake at the Kendari City PDAM for the 2022 fiscal year, we agree to determine two suspects," said Bustanil, quoted by ANTARA.

From these results, the Kendari Kejari determined the initials DM as the Director of PDAM Kendari City and IS as the contractor or executor of the Attorney Director of CV Karya Sejati.

In the corruption case, his party also examined 22 witnesses from the City Government (Pemkot) and the Kendari City PDAM, as well as from the implementing contractor CV Karya Sejati.

"We examined 22 witnesses," he explained.

In addition, said Bustanil, his party has also asked for information from experts, and has confiscated several documents as evidence in handling the corruption case.

"And there was also a confiscation of money. We have searched and confiscated Rp600 million," said Bustril.

Meanwhile, it is known that the modus operandi carried out in the alleged corruption case, both of them committed budget abuse.

Even so, Bustanil emphasized that it is possible that the number of suspects will increase after further investigations are carried out in the future.

"If there is a possibility of additional suspects, it may be that there is a new suspect determination. We will dig it out later from the results of the investigation from the team," added Bustanil.
