Prabowo Takes Jokowi Riding Maung Tactical Vehicle When Visiting PT Pindad Ammunition Production Facilities

JAKARTA - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto takes President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) riding a Maung Tactical Vehicle 4x4 while visiting the PT Pindad ammunition production facility in Turen District, Malang Regency, East Java, Monday, July 24.

Jokowi was accompanied by First Lady Iriana in the back seat of the black tactical vehicle produced by PT Pindad while Prabowo was driving with SOE Minister Erick Thohir sat beside him. They are traveling around the PT Pindad area

According to general specifications, the Maung Operational Vehicle is a 4x4 light tactical vehicle produced by PT Pindad which is intended to support operations on difficult terrain cruising and personnel transport vehicles, with a capacity of four personnel with five doors.

Maung Operational Vehicle dimensions are 4.8 meters long; two meters wide; height 1.8 meters; with a wheel base of 2.8 meters and a ground clearance of 0.3 meters. The vehicle is driven by a 1,900 cc diesel engine with 136 horsepower (HP).

Maung can travel at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour safely and has a range of up to 650 kilometers. Maung's front suspension uses Independent Coil Spring With Gas Shock Absorber, while the rear suspension uses Rigid 5-link Coil Spring With Gas Shock Absorber.

PT Pindad developed Maung with customization for the use of presidential operational vehicles by presenting comfort, safety and reliable performance facilities.

In particular, PT Pindad also made adjustments to suit Jokowi's body posture so as to bring exclusivity and maximize comfort.

The Maung that Jokowi is riding is matte black with black wheels, different from the other Maung variants which are introduced in green, sky blue and dark blue.

On the inside, Maung uses a seat with a captain seat model with a capacity of four personnel and uses the best premium materials. At the back, there are two seats with soft and padded head supports and arm rests.
