JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said that Transjakarta bus fares with routes to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) will be charged a higher tariff than normal routes.

Currently, the Transjakarta bus route from Kalideres Terminal to Soetta is still in the trial stage for one month. During the trial period, this bus service has not been charged or free.

"The tariff is being calculated proportionally. Maybe a little above (normal rate)," said Heru, Friday, July 21.

Based on reports from his subordinates, Heru said that the presence of Transjakarta services entering Soetta Airport was admitted by passengers to be enough to help them in mobilizing.

"So far, reports from the Department of Transportation have been smooth and the enthusiasm is enough to help people with transportation," said Heru.

TransJakarta operates 10 low-dek (low entry) buses for the Kalideres Terminal-Soetta Airport route. The travel time from Kalideres to Soetta Airport is estimated to be a maximum of 45 minutes for one trip.

With a capacity of one bus of 60 passengers, in a day the TransJakarta bus bound for Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) to Kalideres Terminal can carry up to 2,500 passengers.

Since the start of trials on July 4, Transjakarta has recorded an average of 700 bus customers with routes to Soetta Airport per day. In total over the past two weeks, Transjakarta has served 10 thousand passengers.

"The busiest ones are from 06.00 am to 08.00 am. Of the 700 people, 400 are in the morning. Then, 300 people are from 18.00 to 20.00 WIB," said Director of Operations and Safety of PT Transjakarta Daud Joseph.
