JAKARTA - The Choir (TRCC) Resonanz Children's Choir (TRCC) choir group won the overall winner or Grand Prix at the Leonardo Da fire International Choral Festival Choir Competition in Florence City, Italy. The government is asked to give awards and appreciations.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, said that the achievements of the Indonesian children's choir team were the fruit of the hard work of the nation's next generation.

"We in the DPR will also continue to encourage the Government to support Indonesian representatives in various international competitions," said Puan, Monday, July 17.

This year, Leonardo Damenda's International Choral Festival, which is one of the world's prestigious choir competitions, will be held in Florence City, Italy which lasts for 4 days from Tuesday (11/7) to Friday (14/7). TRC itself is a choir containing children of the nation aged between 5 and 17 years.

In addition to getting the Grand Prix title in the event, TRC also won the category D (Children's Choir) with a score of 94.3 and won the category G (Popular, Folk, Gospel, Barbershop, Jazz, and Modern Ensemble) with a score of 95.5. They made achievements through the presentation of songs compiled by Fero Aldiansya Stefanus with the title Mejikuhibiniu and the song of the Minang area, Tak Tong.

Not only about voting, TRC also won the best choreography category award, where TRC also compactly wore traditional Minang traditional clothes as supporters. Therefore, Puan said she was proud of the introduction of the Indonesian culture in the international world.

"I am always proud if there are children of the nation who bring our culture far into the world. This is also a place to introduce the values of our culture, which will certainly be a special attraction in the eyes of the world community," explained the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

In addition, Puan admitted that she was impressed with the process of forming a TRC choir group. To note, the selection process was carried out during the Covid-19 Pandemic, which did not allow children to audition face-to-face.

In 2022, TRC won two titles, namely Gold Medal & Champion in the Children's Choir and Gold Medal & Champion categories in the Folksong category in a choir event entitled 11th Bali International Choir Festival (BICF).

In addition to the TRC, young people who like the field of singing also succeeded in making the nation proud. One of them is the Padjadjaran University Student Choir (PSM Unpad) which won the overall champion at 67th International Choral Competition, Arezzo, Italy, which was held from 22 to 24 August 2019.

Then there was also the Jakarta Youth Choir (JYC) Choir Choir Choir Choir Choir, which won five awards at the 34th Internazionale Chorus Inside Adventure Festival in Rome, Italy in 2018. Puan also assessed that many Indonesian sons/daughters have talents in the field of vocals that are not inferior to other countries.

"We all know that many young Indonesian women who come from various ethnicities, races and religions unite to bring the good name of the country in international events, especially singing," he said.

"This proves that we have never run out of the nation's successors who have the expertise to compete in various world competencies. So it is the government's obligation to provide support," continued Puan.

On the other hand, Bung Karno's grandson encouraged the Government to give appreciation and appreciation to every citizen who succeeded in making the nation proud. Puan emphasized that with the support from the Government, this will make the younger generation dare to move forward.

"The government must have a central role in guarding, supporting and providing moral support, budgeting and policies in every international event that is attended by the nation's children. Don't just focus on one field, but all the achievements of the nation's children must be appreciated and given support," he explained.

Furthermore, the Indonesian House of Representatives will certainly oversee every nation's children who have extraordinary potential in various fields to be able to achieve their highest achievements. Moreover, these achievements can make the nation proud, and inspire the younger generation in pursuing their dreams.

"The DPR will continue to support outstanding children through our functions and authorities both from the support of legislation, budgeting, and supervision. Because we believe that when the State is present to support an outstanding generation, it will foster a spirit of patriotism towards the country," explained Puan.

"But on the other hand, if the country is indifferent, then of course the love of our superior generation for the nation and state will also be lost. So this is a joint task of the government, the DPR, and all elements of the nation to support outstanding children," he concluded.
