PENAJAM - Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara hopes that the Sepaku Semoi Dam will become a water source for the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago to the surrounding area, as well as a flood reduction in the area.

He said that initially the Sepaku Semoi Dam was built to support the Balikpapan area. But in the future, the dam will also support IKN and the surrounding area, so that it can be used by the entire community for irrigation and irrigation, as well as being a source of water discharge.

Thus, the Sepaku Semoi Dam is one of the basic infrastructure supporting the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN Nusantara in East Kalimantan. The infrastructure development is carried out with a comprehensive concept to ensure that nature is maintained.

The IKN development aims to provide opportunities and opportunities that are more evenly distributed by creating growth centers outside Java.

As directed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), the transfer of IKN is a joint effort to realize development that is not only oriented towards Jakarta as has been going on for years.

Suahasil said the plan supports equitable development throughout Indonesia and an increase in the rate of economic growth.

In terms of land acquisition, he revealed that the land acquisition of the Sepaku Semoi Dam was carried out by the State Asset Management Institute (LMAN), along with the IKN Access Toll Road and the IKN Central Government Core Area (KIPP).

As of July 7, 2023, LMAN's total land funding in the IKN area is IDR 252.6 billion.
