Garut District Prosecutor's Office, West Java destroyed 6,012 bottles of liquor from various well-known brands, which if cashed, amounted to approximately Rp. 2.5 billion at the Hall of Garut Regency, West Java.

Head of the Garut District Attorney's Office Halila Rama Purnama said the destroyed liquor was the result

confiscated from the joint operations of various law enforcement agencies whose cases already have legal provisions at the Garut District Court.

The confiscated value is quite large, he said, from one of the big liquor dealers in the Garut area whose drink quality is high in selling value.

He revealed that the destruction of liquor was an effort to warn that his staff continued to take firm action to eradicate drunk drinks.

The reason, he continued, was because the drink was one of the triggers for criminality and other criminal acts, as well as disturbances in public security and order.

"This liquor is dangerous, one of the causes of crime or criminal acts, for that we jointly take action," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 12.

In addition to destroying liquor, there are also other evidence of crimes that are also destroyed, such as illegal drugs, as well as other types of narcotics.

In addition, there is also counterfeit money which amounts to 100 thousand rupiahs with a total of Rp. 2.3 billion.

"There are various pieces of evidence, narcotics, liquor, sharp weapons, and evidence from other crimes. The biggest thing is upal," he said.

The destruction of evidence was carried out in various ways, for liquor to be destroyed using heavy vehicles, then evidence of hard objects cut using cutting machines, then there was also evidence that was destroyed using a blender, and burned.
