Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo checked the assistance for repairing uninhabitable houses (RTLH) in Kunir Village, Sulang District, Rembang Regency, Monday 10 July. Ganjar praised the results of the RTLH renovation because it was very good. This is thanks to the mutual cooperation of the extended beneficiary families and the surrounding community.

"Alhamdulillah, yes, the RTLH from us is not really much help. But what attracts mutual cooperation from his family is that his house is really good," said Ganjar after reviewing the RTLH assistance.

There are two houses that were checked in Kunir Village. Supriyati's one house and the other belonging to Titik. Each house received assistance from the Central Java Provincial Government worth Rp. 20 million.

Ganjar was stunned because aid money from the Central Java Provincial Government could be used to build a good house. After being traced, it turned out that from the aid there was an additional self-help from the recipient's extended family.

For example Supriyati, who received additional funds from her extended family and her extended husband's family. So, it's no wonder that the house that results look good.

"There are two houses, one here, the other there who were given a good appearance," he said.

While at Supriyati's house, Ganjar had time to go around looking at the condition of the building and its quality. The results are quite satisfying because the roof and walls are good, and wider than the previous house.

Ganjar said he was happy, because the condition of the house was suitable to live in. He also had time to check whether the house was equipped with latrine facilities, clean water, and electricity.

"Seeing the condition of the house that is more livable, healthier, yes of course we are happy. So we checked earlier whether we have a latrine or not. There are latrines here but they have not been repaired," he said.

The intervention of RTLH assistance is an effort to reduce poverty, especially extreme poverty in Central Java. In addition to RTLH, intervention from the government is also in the form of clean water assistance, latrines, and free electricity connections.

"So if there are latrines, electricity is there, clean water is there, the house is decent, so actually this is enough to be able to provide a fairly good welfare. The poverty score will definitely go down immediately," he said.

Based on data from the Central Java Province Disperakim until June 2023, the realization of RTLH sourced from the Central Java Provincial Government Budget in 2023 was 6,557 units. The target in 2023 for RTLH assistance sourced from the APBD is 15,225 units.

Previously, Rembang Regent Abdul Hafidz said that the number of RTLH in Rembang in 2016 was 23 thousand houses. Currently, that number only leaves 6,000 houses. He hopes that this number can be completed soon, especially Rembang Regency as well as pilot project for 61 extreme poverty villages in Central Java.

"The indicator of extreme poverty that needs to be sharpened is RTLH because this is a lot. God willing, it can be completed with the pilot project," he said.
