Preventing Complaints After The Election Dispute Session, Central Kalimantan Police Deployed 580 Personnel

JAKARTA - The Central Kalimantan Police (Polda Kalteng) deployed 580 personnel after the trial of regional head election disputes at the Constitutional Court (MK).

The large-scale patrol activities with a number of fleets that have been prepared are focused on 3 areas, namely Palangka Raya City, Pulang Pisau Regency, and Kapuas Regency.

Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police, Kombes Krismanto Eko Saputro, said that as many personnel would be involved in monitoring community activities by conducting dialogical patrols.

"We anticipate this so that Central Kalimantan kamtibmas will be conducive, so that the regional election disputes will cause chaos in the area. All parties must accept what the Constitutional Court will decide later," he said while attending the Apel Siaga and Large Scale Patrols reported by Antara, Wednesday, January 27.

Apart from patrolling 3 regions, a number of personnel were also alerted at the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of Central Kalimantan Province. The aim is to anticipate mass actions that do not accept the Constitutional Court decision.

"Members who are patrolling will also be asked to appeal to the public to adhere to health protocols (prokes). This aims to increase public discipline towards health services in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
