Ali Lubis' Criticism Of Anies Baswedan Could Be A Hint From Gerindra: The Election Is Close, Be Cautious Or Be Abandoned!

JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Voxpol Center Research and Consulting, Pangi Syarwi Chaniago, said that the criticism sent by the chairman of the East Jakarta Gerindra DPC Ali Lubis to Anies Baswedan is commonplace in politics.

This criticism is not only understood as the difference between Ali Lubis and Gerindra's attitude in supporting the number one person in DKI Jakarta alone. However, part of Gerindra's political strategy.

"It is a wave checking, including the regional election which is getting closer or it is a hint for Anies that indicates the election is getting closer", Pangi explained when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, January 27.

DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria previously emphasized that Ali Lubis had received a warning after asking DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to resign.

Anies, according to Ali Lubis, is considered unable to handle COVID-19 in Jakarta.

"DPC Gerindra, Ali Lubis, we have reminded us that criticism is permissible, but delivered internally, providing input may not be necessary to the public. What Anies is doing as a Governor regarding the handling of COVID-19 has been extraordinary. People can see it. The facts and the data are, how can DKI Jakarta fight the severity of the virus, we still survive and control it", said Riza yesterday.

Gerindra ensures that they will continue to support Anies in realizing the progress of Jakarta.

"Regarding Ali Lubis, we have conveyed it, that is a personal statement. I am the leader of Gerindra in DKI Jakarta and also a leader at the Center, I came to Dasco and Habib, we are still continuing until the 2017 deadline.
