Former West Java DPRD Chairman Irfan Suryanagara Executed In Banceuy Prison

BANDUNG - Former Chairman of the West Java DPRD Irfan Suryanagara was executed at the Class IIABanceuy Bandung Correctional Institution (Lapas) after the Supreme Court (MA) annulled the decision to be released from the Bale Bandung District Court (PN).

Head of Banceuy Prison Heri Kusrita said his party received the convict Irfan Suryanagara who was executed by the Cimahi District Attorney (Kejari). The case of Irfanwal was indeed handled by the Cimahi Kejari.

"Receiving the execution of one convict on behalf of Irfan Suryanagara from the Cimahi District Attorney's Office to carry out his sentence at Banceuy Prison," said Heri as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 4.

Irfan arrived at Banceuy Prison at around 20.00 WIB accompanied by the prosecutor. Arriving in Banceuy, Irfan entered the registration room for file examination.

"According to the doctor at the Ciibabat Hospital, he stated that he was physically healthy," continued Heri.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Attorney General's Office, Cimahi Arif Raharjo, explained that Irfan was a convict in a money laundering case (TPPU). Apart from Irfan, his wife, Endang Kusumawaty, was also involved and was also convicted.

"The executor prosecutor has carried out the execution of the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Number 565 on behalf of the convict Irfan Suryanagara and Decision Number 570 on behalf of Endang Kusumawaty," said Arif.

Previously, Irfan and Endang, who were defendants in the case of embezzlement of the gas station business, were acquitted by the Bale Bandung District Court (PN) on Wednesday (8/2). The judge stated that Irfan was not proven guilty on the prosecutor's charges.

The prosecutor then filed an appeal against the decision until the legal process went up to the cassation stage at the MA level. Finally, the Supreme Court annulled the acquittal of the Bale District Court to be sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 2 billion, subsidiary to six months in prison.
