Not About The Presidential Election, Mahfud MD Talks Stately With Megawati

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD said he had a chance to talk about the state with the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.

The conversation was held when she was whispered by Megawati on the sidelines of her grandson's wedding reception, in Jakarta, Sunday (2/7).

"Many, many important state problems, but cannot be conveyed here in a short time, he said it can't be done," Mahfud said after a working meeting with Committee I DPD at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 4.

Mahfud said he had a chance to talk about human rights issues with the daughter of the 1st President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno.

However, Mahfud dismissed the brief discussion that he also raised the issue of the 2024 presidential election contestation and the discussion regarding the future vice presidential candidate (cawapres).

"No, there is nothing (to discuss the vice presidential candidate). We don't talk about the presidential election," he said.

Mahfud also revealed that a message was given by the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) to always maintain the constitution of the Indonesian state in holding leadership positions.

"Premend this country properly, that's the message, constitutionally enforce the constitution if the country wants to progress, that's Mrs. Mega's message," said the Acting Minister of Communication and Information.

Previously, the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly uploaded several photos while attending the wedding of the grandson of the PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri of his eldest son Mohammad Rizki Pratama through his personal Instagram account @yasonna.laoly.
