For The U-17 World Cup, Sunter's Swelling ITF Land Will Be Turned Into JIS Parking Field

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to increase the parking capacity of visitors to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in order to meet the requirements as an U-17 World Cup venue next November.

Bearing in mind, this international standard stadium can accommodate 82 thousand spectators. However, the available parking capacity can only accommodate 1,200 motorized vehicles, both wheels, four wheels and buses.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that one of the locations that will be converted into JIS visitor parking lots is the Sunter Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) construction area which is on the west side of JIS.

This was revealed by Syafrin after the JIS review by the Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono and his staff.

"Later in front of here, the ITF will be fully used as a parking location. So there will be additional parking locations," said Syafrin at JIS, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Tuesday, July 4.

Currently, there is no work on the Sunter ITF because the project is stalled. The latest decision, Heru Budi decided to cancel the waste processing project into electrical energy because it was considered to charge the APBD.

In addition to ITF land, there are several locations that have also been transformed into JIS parking bags. Among them are the former residential land of Bambu Village which houses 5,000 vehicles.

"At the end of the road, Kampung Bambu will prepare a parking location for visitors who will enter JIS. The land area is about 5,000 meters that will be optimized," said Syafrin.

In addition, the President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo Iwan Takwin said that additional JIS parking locations would be prepared in the eastern Ancol area with a capacity of 1,000 four-wheeled vehicles or more.

Later, visitors can cross from Ancol using a pedestrian bridge (JPO) that goes directly to JIS. "Later, people don't need to turn the bridge there, they can go directly to the JPO," said Iwan.
