73 Thousand Train Tickets From Bandung Sold During Eid Holidays

BANDUNG - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Area 2, Bandung, West Java, recorded 73,066 tickets sold during the long holiday period of Eid al-Adha 2023, June 27-2 July 2023.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 2 Mahendro Trang Bawono said the majority of passengers who bought tickets were dominated by destinations to the east, namely Solo, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.

"Of these, most tickets are booked for departures on June 27, 1, and July 2, 2023," Mahendro said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 30.

Mahendro said Bandung Station was the busiest station with 38,125 train passengers departing from Kiaracondong Station as many as 16,889 train customers.

"This figure can still continue to increase because ticket sales are still ongoing," he said.

As for the Eid al-Adha long holiday period, Mahendro said his party was preparing 23 train trips to anticipate an increase in passenger volume.

In addition, according to him, Daop 2 Bandung also operates an additional train, namely the Argo Parahyangan Train, the Bandung-Gambir connection, on the last day to accommodate and anticipate a surge in customers.

"Daop 2 Bandung also added one executive train to the series of Harina Railways related to Bandung-Surabaya in the period 27 June-3 July," he said.

Ahead of entering the peak of the long holiday flow of Eid al-Adha, he also appealed to prospective train passengers to allocate sufficient time when going to the departure station.

"This is an effort so that customers do not lag behind the train, considering the density of roads that tend to increase during long holidays like today," said Mahendro.
