KUDUS - The Ansor Youth Movement of Kudus Regency, Central Java, asked the Kudus Satpol PP to take firm action in cracking down on karaoke places that are still operating secretly.
Chairman of GP Ansor Kudus Dasa Regency Susila emphasized that in Regional Regulation Number 10 of 2015 concerning Discotheque Entertainment Business, Kelab Malam, Pub, and Karaoke Entertainment Arrangement, it is clear that it prohibits the existence of karaoke entertainment venues.
"However, the results of data collection in the field of karaoke entertainment venues turned out to be rife again," he said when met after an audience with the Head of the Kudus Satpol PP and his staff at the Kudus Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), quoted from Antara, Tuesday, June 27.
The results of the identification of his staff in the field, recorded 19 karaoke entertainment venues. In fact, three karaoke entertainment venues are relatively new, so there needs to be maximum efforts so that all karaoke entertainment venues are closed.
He also demanded that Satpol PP be more courageous in taking legal steps, one of which was reporting a criminal case of destroying the seal of karaoke entertainment venues to the Kudus Police.
This, he continued, is to provide a deterrent effect because so far the sanctions in the regional regulation on the prohibition of karaoke are very light.
"We ask the Satpol PP to take action against all karaoke entertainment venues by giving a time limit of up to 1 Muharam 1445 Hijri," he said.
Responding to the demands of GP Ansor Kudus, the Head of the Kudus Satpol PP Kholid Seif emphasized his commitment to upholding Regional Regulation No. 10/2015 which regulates strictly the prohibition of karaoke businesses.
He is also grateful for the support from GP Ansor Kudus so that his party and his staff can take firm action against all karaoke businesses because the results of identification in the field are increasingly widespread and the number is more than 19 karaoke businesses.
"We are also still collecting data on building owners for karaoke businesses. When the owner finds out, he can be given a first, second, and third warning before finally taking action to enforce the IMB regional regulation," he said.
Regarding GP Ansor's demands for Satpol PP to also take criminal legal action, Kholid said that his party had coordinated with the police, state prosecutors, and the Kudus District Court.
Satpol PP, he said, might take this effort as a form of a deterrent effect on karaoke managers.
So far, according to him, the trial for minor crimes (tipiring) related to violations of Perda No. 10/2015 at the District Court has a light enough fine so that it does not cause a deterrent effect for karaoke entertainment entrepreneurs.
Efforts to control karaoke places with routine operations have also been carried out, including on Monday, June 26 night also carrying out operations even though it was leaked so that many karaoke places were closed. However, after waiting until early morning, finally got a karaoke place that was desperate to operate.
