Novel Baswedan Says KPK Council Will Announce Not Finding Enough Evidence Of Firli Leaks Investigation

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board (Dewas) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is said to be announcing that KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri has not violated ethics regarding the alleged leak of investigation documents at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The announcement will be made next week.

This statement was made by former KPK investigator Novel Baswedan via his Twitter account, @nazaqistsha today, Sunday, June 18. He said the Supervisory Board would argue that it did not get sufficient evidence related to the allegation.

"Dewas KPK, which examines the leak of data on the KPK investigation into the case at ESDM, will announce that there is not enough evidence," Novel tweeted.

"Thus Firli will be considered or someone else innocent," he continued.

Furthermore, Novel also gave a leak that a different decision was actually taken by the Polda Metro Jaya.

"Investigators from Polda Metro Jaya have (conducted, red) investigations. Let's look forward to it," he said.

This tweet was later confirmed by VOI sources. He said the investigation warrant (sprindik) had been issued by the Polda Metro Jaya since Monday, June 12.

"Many KPK employees have been investigated," he said.

Previously reported, Firli denied leaking investigation documents to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The allegations targeted are corruption related to mining business permits (IUP).

"I have been a police officer for 38 years. I have never destroyed my career," Firli told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, June 15.

This allegation strengthens after a report from the former KPK Director of Investigation Brigadier General Endar Priantoro. "So whatever people say, I make sure I never did that and I never give any documents to anyone," concluded Firli.
