JAYAPURA - Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri admitted that he had ordered a number of police to investigate the distribution of village funds (villages) to help armed criminal groups (KKB).

He said there were a number of police officers who had investigated the distribution of village funds to help KKB.

"There are already several village heads who are currently undergoing an inspection process related to village funds that have been distributed to the KKB so that they are used to finance the group's operations," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, June 17.

If there is involvement of the village head or anyone in the distribution of village funds to the KKB, he said, then his party will take firm action by processing their law.

"Currently, several village heads have been detained and are being investigated by investigators regarding the use of village funds given to KKB," he explained.

Apart from Nduga Regency, explained the Kapolda, there are also several areas that are of concern to the police so that the police chiefs are asked to investigate and process the law if there are indications of distribution of land and land fires to the KKB.

The village funds were given to help accelerate the development process in the village so that the utilization is in accordance with the program that has been mutually agreed upon, instead of being given the funds to the KKB which often makes the surrounding community restless.

"Therefore, if it is indicated that the village head will be prosecuted," said the Papuan Police Chief.
