Monkeys often invade the area of SMAN 1 Ciampea, Bogor Regency, West Java. The school ensures that the incident does not interfere with teaching and learning activities.

"If it disturbs [students studying] or not. If there are disturbances that we can tolerate, maybe there are also, for example, tiles in our schools that like to go down, and school guards can immediately fix them," said Deputy Principal for Curriculum SMAN 1 Ciampea Ahmad Idrus in Bogor, Friday 16 June.

According to him, the dozens of monkeys who came down from the hill not far from the school area actually became their own entertainment for students to eliminate the saturation of learning.

"It could be that when a monkey comes down there are teaching and learning activities, then students look in the glass towards going out and seeing a monkey, it will steal the attention. On the one hand, it might reduce their saturation," he said.

Ahmad said that the monkey herd came down from the hills at certain times. He ensured that until now the animal did not attack residents, including students of SMAN 1 Ciampea.

"It doesn't attack students. But there has been an incident where students may bring food, maybe they are hungry, they keep wanting to be achieved, but they don't get stabbed, (students) are just being chased," he said.

He revealed that a herd of monkeys coming down from the hills was nothing new. But it's been a few years. But the number is now increasing.

"In the past, there wasn't as much as it is now. Now there are more, especially if it has gone down, there are more people who feed it. So in this field there are more than 50," he said.

Ahmad suspects that the monkey herd came from the hill because its home habitat lacked food sources.

"Since the forest plants were replaced, previously fruit plants have now been replaced with teak plantations. That's what caused them to go down to school," he said.
