Karhutla In East Kalimantan Spreads, In One Day 16 New Hotspots Detected

BALIKPAPAN - The Balikpapan Station Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) detected as many as 16 hotspots spread across East Kalimantan (Kaltim), so all parties were advised to be vigilant and take care of each other so that there would be no additional hotspots.

The hotspots detected throughout last Monday decreased compared to the previous day, namely on Sunday, June 11 as many as 35 hotspots.

Hotspots are indicators of forest or land fires detected from a location with relatively high temperatures compared to the surrounding temperatures.

For this number of hot spots, he appealed to all related parties and the wider community to remind each other, such as not throwing cigarette butts carelessly on land or in dry forests.

The distribution of 16 hotspots that have been observed has been informed to related parties, including the local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in order to receive further action.

The day before, 35 hotspots were observed spread across five districts, namely Paser, West Kutai, East Kutai, Kutai Kartanegara, and Berau Regency.

Meanwhile, the 16 hotspots monitored throughout Monday, he said, are new hotspots that appear in different locations with different coordinate points.

The 16 hotspots are spread across six districts, namely Paser, West Kutai, East Kutai, Kutai Kartanegara, Mahakam Ulu, and Berau Regency.

The details are that Berau Regency has four points spread across three sub-districts, namely two on Derawan Island, Gunung Tabur and Sengah one point each, for Kutai Kartanegara Regency two points spread across Loa Janan and Loa Kulu Districts.

East Kutai Regency has seven hotspots spread across three sub-districts, namely Bengalon and Kaubun with three points each, and Rantau Pulung District with one point.

"Paser, West Kutai, and Mahakam Ulu regencies have one point each spread across Batu Sopang, Bongan, and Long Bagun sub-districts. All hotspots yesterday had a middle level of trust," said Diyan.
