High Active Cases, DKI Will Add Thousands Of Covid-19 Isolation Beds

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta has experienced an increase in active cases of COVID-19 over the past two weeks. There were 17,946 active cases on January 11, 2021, with a total of 208,583 confirmed cases in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, as of January 24, 2021, the number of active cases increased by 34 percent to 24,224, with a total of 249,815 confirmed cases in Jakarta.

"The number of active cases of 24,224 exceeds the highest point of active cases in Jakarta. So, this is a message to all of us that the pandemic is not over yet, ”said Widyastuti in his statement, Sunday, January 24.

To reduce the spread of COVID-19 cases, which are currently increasing, Head of the DKI Health Service Widyastuti said that his party would add thousands of special isolation beds for COVID-19.

As of January 24, 2021, the occupancy of isolation beds reached 86 percent, with details of the isolation beds as many as 6,954 filled from a total of 8,055 beds.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing a plan to increase the capacity of isolation beds by 1,941 beds. So, the total will be 9,996 beds," said Widyastuti.

Additional beds will also be made in the ICU. Currently, the ICU capacity is 84 percent filled with 1,097 ICU beds and 921 ICU beds have been used.

"We will also increase the ICU capacity to 1,362 ICU beds," he said.

Widyastuti continued, the addition of health facilities and health workers in Jakarta will indeed continue to be carried out in order to reduce the mortality rate and increase the recovery rate.

As of January 24, 2021, of the total cases, 221,567 people were declared cured with a cure rate of 88.7 percent and a total of 4,024 people died with a death rate of 1.6 percent.

DKI has also experienced the addition of the COVID-19 family cluster in a few weeks after the Christmas 2020 holiday and the new year 2021. The family cluster is the largest cluster above the office cluster.

After the year-end holiday until January 17, there were 442 family clusters in the capital city. A week later, January 24, the family cluster became 566 clusters.
