NGAWI- In a recent meeting between Nahdliyin residents in Ngawi, East Java, deliberations and halalbihalal were held to discuss their candidate for choice in the 2024 Presidential Election. The participants unanimously agreed to support Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, or better known as Cak Imin, who also serves as Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB).
Zaenal Arifin, Chairman of the Nahdliyin Ngawi Citizens Consultative Committee, expressed their strong support for a candidate for leader who truly came from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) to lead Indonesia. He stressed that their support for Cak Imin was based on their aspirations for the realization of prosperity and justice in this country.
"The Nahdliyin community sincerely supports NU leaders to lead this nation, with the aim of achieving prosperity and justice," said Zaenal in a written statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, June 10.
Although NU is structurally prohibited from engaging in politics, Zaenal stressed that this attitude can be taken through a structural approach. He emphasized that Nahdliyin members have the right to voice their aspirations and elect their leaders.
