PDIP Affirms That Ganjar's Vice Presidential Candidate Is Not Necessary From Certain Groups

The PDI-P emphasized that any party could become a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. As long as you have a track record, the figure will definitely be elected by the people.

"So the pattern of national leadership is not included in the corridors. Whether civil, military, central, regional, from the executive, legislature, all those called by the people are leaders who have a clear track record," PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto told reporters at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Thursday, June 8.

Even so, Hasto revealed that Ganjar needed a companion who had a good performance and character.

In addition, this figure is expected to unite with Ganjar and work together. Both, said Hasto, are expected to imitate Soekarno-Muhammad Hatta who is the first president and vice president.

Previously, PDIP did not want to talk about the vice presidential candidate accompanying Ganjar. They even formed a team filled with PDIP DPP Chairs Puan Maharani and Prananda Prabowo.

This team is led directly by PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri who will report regularly to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). In addition, later discussions that are increasingly narrowing will be discussed with parties that carry out political cooperation with parties bearing the bull symbol.
