JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Red and White Network 08 Poltak Agustinus Sinaga stated that his party supports the General Chair of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election. Previously, Poltak admitted that he was a two-term Joko Widodo volunteer, namely in the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections. He explained the reason why the Prabowo volunteers were formed. According to him, Prabowo is a person who is heartened to accept defeat when he became Jokowi's rival in the previous presidential election. In fact, Prabowo was willing to become Minister of Defense in the era of Jokowi's leadership. "Prabowo is a man who is lazy, not many insults, insults, criticisms, both from his own camp and from Jokowi's camp when he wanted to become a minister whose note was a supporter of his former rival in the last presidential election," said Poltak in his statement, Monday, June 5. According to Poltak, the former Danjen Kopassus also has quite high flight hours in political contestation in Indonesia. The role of Prabowo which he expressed was starting to become Megawati's Vice Presidential Candidate in the 2009 presidential election, winning Jokowi-Ahok in the DKI Jakarta Regional Head Election in 2012, becoming a presidential candidate twice in a row, winning Anies-Sandiaga in the 2017 DKI Jakarta Regional Election. Then, Prabowo also succeeded in bringing the Gerindra Party into a bsar party and getting the 2nd most votes in the 2019 Legislative Election. "It is very natural when active students and NGO/NGO activists join forces to win Prabowo Subianto as the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia. So, no wonder Prabowo Subianto is labeled a figure who is ready to lead," he explained. It is known that Prabowo is one of three political figures who dominate the electability of surveys ahead of the 2024 General Election, together with Ganjar Pranowo and Anies Baswedan. Now, Gerindra and PKB have formed a coalition to carry Prabowo as presidential candidates.
