JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI, Ahmad Riza Patria, handed over a case of sabotage of the water pump cable at the Dukuh Atas Pump House to the police.

"The incident (sabotage of pump cables) is being processed. We will see. What is the motive, what is the problem, what is being done. We will leave it to the police to find out more details," said Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Friday , January 22.

Riza said that this morning, the Jakarta Provincial Government had repaired the damaged condition of the dissbotated water pump cable. Currently, the electricity in the Dukuh Atas Pump House, Tanah Abang, has returned to operation.

"Alhamdulillah, even though there are cables cut, the existing pumps are still functioning," said Riza.

Separately, the Kapolsek Metro Tanah Abang, AKBP Singgih Hermawan admitted that he was investigating the case of pump cable sabotage that occurred on January 14.

AKBP Singgih said that initially PLN officers reported that there was an electrical disturbance in the vicinity of Dukuh Atas Water Gate. As a result, the electricity supply at the Dukuh Atas Watergate Substation loses electricity or does not function smoothly.

"According to an officer from PLN in the disturbance section, on January 14, 2021, PLN monitored the flow of electricity at the Dukuh Atas Water Gate substation los stun. Then, a check was held to the location and it was found that the position of the cable meter had been cut, but the meter position was still installed," said Singgih.

Then repair was carried out by reconnecting the disconnected cables, and replacing the old meter with a new one. The damage was not that severe.

"Its nature is only damage by cutting the cable so that electricity does not enter the meter. However, electricity is still flowing to the Dukuh Atas Water Pump line," explained Singgih.

For information, a damaged cable in the pump housing can cause electricity to break, so that the pump does not work. The impact that can occur from this damage is flooding, especially in underpasses which are located below ground level.
