JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) regulates the number of social media accounts (medsos) that can be used by 2024 election participants to campaign is at most twenty (20) accounts on each type of social media application. "At the previous PKPU (PKPU Number 23 of 2018 concerning General Election Campaigns), we open up a space of at most 10 accounts for each type of application. For the draft regulations that we propose at this time, we double them to 20 accounts for each type of application," said KPU RI member August Mellaz quoted by ANTARA, Monday 29 May. This provision was published by the KPU in the KPU Draft of KPU Regulation (RPKPU) on Campaigns in the Elections that Mellaz presented in the RDP. In addition to regulating the maximum limit of social media accounts to campaign in the 2024 Election, the KPU also regulates a number of other things in the RPKPU, including the KPU governing that the social media accounts used by 2024 election participants to campaign must be closed on the last day of the campaign period. "This RPKPU also regulates strategic issues related to closing social media accounts on the last day of the campaign period. This is based on the experience of the 2019 election. At the end of the campaign period, it turns out that there are still many active social media accounts in the quiescent period," said Mellaz.

Next, the KPU also regulates the socialization and political education within the political parties participating in the 2024 General Election.
