Agam Immigration Secures 8 Illegal Chinese Citizens, Will Be Deported

AGAM - The Immigration Office of Agam Regency together with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) West Sumatra arrested eight foreign nationals (WNA) from China because they did not have official or illegal documents.

"Seven foreigners were proven to have used inappropriate residence permits and violated the provisions, so they would immediately be deported. Meanwhile, one other person was named a suspect because he fulfilled the elements of the immigration violation article," said Head of the Immigration Division of the West Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Novianto Sulastono in Bukittinggi as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 26.

He said the initial security was carried out on seven foreigners who worked in an iron seed mining company in West Pasaman Regency through Operation Mandiri which was held by the Religious Immigration Office.

"From the results of Operation Mandiri, officers secured seven illegal workers, including 23 other workers but they were proven to have official immigration documents," he said.

Meanwhile, another foreigner was named a suspect, after being secured on the MV Flying Fish ship in the waters of Air Bangis, West Pasaman, because the perpetrator was proven not to be on the crew list.

Head of the Agam Immigration Office, Adityo Agung Nugroho, explained that all foreigners were secured from initial information from the public who suspected the activities of the perpetrators in the local area.

"Through Operation Mandiri, which we held in early May, they were known to enter Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta Airport in April using a visit visa B211B and went straight to Site PT Gamindra Mitra Kesuma," he said.

Adityo said the seven foreigners with the initials HQ, LF, LY, PS, YZ, ZS and ZX were subject to immigration administrative action in accordance with Article 75 of Law number 6 of 2011 sentenced to deportation back to their country.

"This action is a repressive act of reductive depotation which will be carried out on Saturday (27/05)," he said.

Meanwhile, one perpetrator named as a suspect with the initials LSH was proven to have violated Article 122 letter A and Article 123 letter B of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning immigration, with the threat of a maximum prison sentence of five years and a fine of IDR 500 million.
