Polda Metro Jaya Will Add 50 E-TLE Cameras In 2021

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya plans to increase the number of electronic ticketing cameras or E-TLE in the DKI Jakarta area. Currently, around 53 cameras have been installed in the capital city.

"In 2021, we will develop the third stage with the addition of about 50 new cameras," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Sambodo Purmomo Yogo to reporters, Thursday, January 21.

The police plan will submit a proposal to the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta. The submission will be made in the near future.

Later, the dozens of cameras will be installed on TransJakarta routes and toll roads. The location was chosen because the level of violations was still quite high.

"So that drivers who sneak into the busway lane can be caught on camera. Likewise, vehicles violating the speed limit on toll roads can be caught on camera," said Sambodo.

Sambodo said that the procurement of the E-TLE camera could increase driver discipline. In addition, this is also in line with Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo's plan regarding the duties of the traffic police.

"It is evident from the data that shows that at points where E-TLE cameras have decreased violations captured by the camera, it means that at that point there is an increase in traffic discipline," concluded Sambodo.
