Two youths in Tigaraksa, Tangerang Regency were victims of detention by two people who initially provided assistance to push the motorbike that broke down by stepping in.

"There has been a criminal act of theft that was preceded or accompanied by violence on Sunday (May 14) at around 01.30, behind the Tigaraksa Warehouse Market," said Tigaraksa Police Chief AKP Agus Ahmad Kurnia, Thursday, May 18.

"The two people who were victims were ZA (16) and SK (18) both residents of Parung District, Bogor Regency, while the two suspects were RK (33), a resident of Tegal Village, Kalideres District, West Jakarta, and AS (26), warta. Maja Village, Maja District, Lebak Regency," explained Agus.

According to Agus, the chronology of the incident began when the motorbike being driven by two victims broke down because it ran out of fuel on Syekh Mubarok Street, Kampung, Tigaraksa Village. When pushing the motorbike, continued Agus, two victims were approached by two people who offered to help push the motorbike by stepping on to the nearest gas station," explained Agus.

"At the crime scene, the two people who initially helped stop the victim's motorbike, then one of the perpetrators pointed a sharp weapon while forcing the two victims to hand over their cellphones, the victim who was threatened then handed over the cellphone and cash amounting to Rp. 32,000 at that time. A resident passed by on a motorbike and saw the incident, in a hurry the two suspects turned around the motorbike to escape. The residents chased the two perpetrators and throughout the pursuit, more and more people surrounded the two suspects at the same time the Tigaraksa Police officers were on patrol and then joined in pursuing one of the perpetrators who had thrown away the sharp weapons he was carrying., "explained Agus.

"After the chase, the two suspects were finally arrested in the Solear area, Tangerang Regency," he said.

Agus said the two suspects were detained at the Tigaraksa Police, Tangerang Police for further investigation.

"The two suspects along with the evidence were then taken to the Tigaraksa Police, Tangerang Police, Banten Police for further investigation. Evidence of sharp weapons that had been disposed of was also found," said Agus.

The two suspects were charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of more than 5 years in prison.
