If You See Forest And Land Fires In Central Kalimantan, BPBD Urges To Immediately Report To The Village Head Or Police

The Palangka Raya City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) asked people who knew about the environment to cause forest and land fires or forest and land fires to report immediately.

The Head of Public Relations and Preparedness at BPBD Palangka Raya City Heri Fauzi said that reporting on forest and land fires in the Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan) area can pass through the offices of BPBD, kelurahan and the nearest police.

"Because if the burned land is not immediately followed up, of course it will spread everywhere, especially the condition of the bush and the characteristics of the land in the local area, mostly peat," said Heri in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, Wednesday, May 17, which was confiscated by Antara.

Heri also said that people should never burn empty land during the hot weather in the dry season that is currently hitting Palangka Raya.

"The peatland, if it is burned, is very difficult to extinguish, therefore do not let these things happen in our area. Even the community must not remain silent in this matter, because this can endanger the community, one of which is residential areas near the burned land," he said.

Furthermore, Heri said, until now the forest and land fires incident had not been found. However, he said, Palangka Raya BPBD personnel routinely patrol through urban villages prone to forest and land fires.

The sub-districts that should be watched out for occur in forest and land fires such as Jekan Raya District, Pahandut, Bukit Batu.

Heri also admitted that his party was vigilant and had never underestimated the potential for forest and land fires.

"Because this forest and land fires can happen at any time, most of the causes are due to irresponsible people, for example accidentally throwing cigarette butts into the dry shrubs so that the bushes are flammable," he said.

"We also continue to intensify the appeal regarding forest and land fires to the community both in the middle of the city and in residents who live in suburban areas. This is done so that Palangka Raya City can really avoid what is called forest and land fires," continued Heri.
