The Maluku Provincial AMBON - DPRD asked the security forces to involve intelligence elements to uncover a shooting case by an unknown person in Saparua District, Central Maluku Regency, resulting in the death of a resident and another injured.

"The DPRD strongly condemns this kind of action that occurred during the commemoration of the 602nd anniversary of the national hero Pattimura," said Maluku Provincial DPRD Chairman Benhur G. Watubundi reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 17.

The Ambon Island City Police Chief and PP Lease Kombes Raja Arthur Simamora previously admitted that there were shooting cases carried out by unknown people against two residents in East Saparua District, Central Maluku.

"Based on the information we received, it is true that there was a shooting incident by an unknown person against two residents," explained the Police Chief.

One of the shooting victims known to be a woman with the initials WH (41) died, while another victim, a man with the initials RP (52) suffered a gunshot wound and had to undergo medical treatment.

The two victims were shot by unknown people secretly when they were not too far from the Saparua District Office.
