JAKARTA - Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. or Joe Biden was officially sworn in as the 46th President of the United States (US), replacing the incumbent Donald Trump on Capitol Hill, Washington DC, United States, Wednesday, January 20 local time.

Joe Biden took the oath as President of the United States in accordance with the United States Constitution, guided by the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court John Giover Roberts Jr., accompanied by his wife Jill Tracy Biden

Paired with Kamala Harris, Joe Biden was inaugurated as President of the US after the two won the US Presidential Election which was held on November 3, 2020.

The Democratic Party's Biden-Harris pair defeated incumbents Donald Trump and Mike Pence who were promoted by the Republican Party. Biden-Harris won 306 electoral votes (51.5%), while Trump-Pence only won 232 electoral votes (46.9%), out of the minimum 270 electoral votes needed to win the US Presidential Election.

Biden-Harris has won elections in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island , Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia and Hawaii.

While Trump-Pence won elections in Alaska, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio , West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.
