The Bandung Police Team arrested a trader at Cimol Gedebage Market whose video was spread on social media while threatening residents using knives.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Budi Sartono said the trader with the initials YH (24) was arrested because his actions were punishable by a crime in accordance with Article 334 of the Criminal Code and also the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951.

"A search was carried out with the police and found. Then it was examined and proven to be threatening, unpleasant and rude," Budi said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 12.

Budi explained that the threatening action took place on Thursday (11/5) at around 14.00 WIB.

At that time, said Budi, the perpetrators were visited by residents, namely Bela and Rifa, who wanted to ask about the ordered goods, but both of them became victims of threats by the perpetrators.

"Threatened with the word don't play with me, I killed you while taking out a knife," said Budi.

Budi explained that the perpetrator and the victim had known each other since January 2023. From that introduction, the victim then ordered goods from the perpetrators with a value of Rp. 3.5 million.

However, according to him, the items ordered did not come to the victim. So the victim also came to the perpetrator's stall to collect the ordered goods.

"The perpetrator had fled to Ciamis. The goods were not there, but it was investigated about fraud and embezzlement. The crime scene (fraud) was in Cimahi," said Budi.

As a result of his actions, the perpetrator is threatened with a maximum imprisonment of 10 years.
